Raised in a family of Azerbaijani descent, Googoosh's early years were marked by hardship and instability. Her parents divorced when she was just a toddler, and she was raised by her father, Saber Atashin, a traveling acrobat and entertainer. It was under his guidance that she first stepped onto the stage, performing alongside him in small theaters and entertainment venues from the tender age of three. By the time she was seven, she had already earned a reputation as a child prodigy with a powerful singing voice.
