Born in 1970 in Tehran, Zanganeh’s childhood was shaped by the turmoil following the Iranian Revolution. Her memories include violent military raids near her home, which she and her sisters witnessed alone while their parents were away. Despite this chaotic start, her family managed to flee Iran in the 1980s, eventually settling in Europe. Maky lived with her uncle in Oldenburg, Germany, while her parents moved between Iran and Europe.
